Who are we?
Wintringham provides aged care services to those who are financially disadvantaged and have previously been homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless. Williamstown Hostel located close to Melbourne’s CBD offers affordable, high quality accommodation to 60 men and women aged 50 years and over. We provide a safe, flexible and caring family-style environment, which allows residents to maintain their chosen lifestyles, habits and activities and to be as independent as they choose to be.
We are currently seeking two motivated and enthusiastic Cleaners to join our residential team at Williamstown Hostel on a Fixed Term Part Time basis until 02/10/2020 with the possibility of extension. The available positions and shifts are:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday (0700-1000)
Week 2: Wednesday & Thursday (0700-1000)
Week 1: Wednesday & Thursday (0700-1000)
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday (0700-1000)
A potential increase in shift times is expected.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- To clean and sanitise resident rooms, communal spaces, office space and staff rooms
- Assisting the Food Services & Laundry teams
Applicants must have previous experience in a cleaning role. Qualifications in HACC or Occupational Health and Safety such as Infection control, Food Handling Certificate, use of chemicals and/or manual handling are favourable.

We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Knowledge and understanding of the special needs of older people
- Have received, are planning to or willing to receive an Influenza Vaccination
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to use cleaning equipment effectively and efficiently
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work autonomously
- Physically able to perform required tasks
